University Partners

The Idaho Child Welfare Research and Training Center (ICWRTC) is a partnership between Idaho Department of Health and Welfare Division of Family and Community Services (FACS),  and Eastern Washington University School of Social Work.

This partnership was established to jointly seek improved outcomes for children and other FACS clients.

University Partners:

This partnership strives to promote:

  • Collaboration
  • Service integration
  • Program involvement and resource development with other educational institutions state agencies, partner agencies, and service organizations. 

Idaho Child Welfare University Partners include:

  • Boise State University Child Welfare Center,
  • Idaho State University Department of Sociology,
  • Social Work and Criminal Justice,
  • Lewis-Clark State College Social Work Program,
  • Northwest Nazarene University Department of Social Work,
  • College of Southern Idaho Department of Social Science,
  • and North Idaho College Social Science Division.

ICWRTC works cooperatively with the Idaho Child Welfare University Partners to provide:

  • Specialized pre-service and continuing education
  • In-service training
  • Consultation and technical assistance
  • Planning
  • Evaluation and research
  • Utilizing continuous quality improvement and innovative data-driven program development

H&W Partners with Casey and Universities to Benefit Child Welfare
The Idaho Child Welfare Partnership was announced last February in Boise, which brought together the educational abilities of Boise State and Eastern Washington Universities, the expertise of Casey Family Programs, and the resources of the Department to help serve the children and families involved with child protection cases.

EWU-Idaho Partnership Forged for Child Welfare
With the stroke of a pen on Friday, Feb. 24, 2006 a true partnership, unique to Idaho, was formalized as the Idaho Child Welfare Partnership. Dignitaries from Idaho and Washington attended the signing ceremony in Boise to celebrate the collaboration involving the Eastern Washington University School of Social Work, Idaho Department of Health and Welfare Division of Family and Community Services, Casey Family Programs and Boise State University School of Social Work.
