National Institutes of Health/National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) NIAAA supports and conducts biomedical research on the causes, consequences, treatment, and prevention of alcoholism and alcohol-related problems. NIH/NIAAA: Social Work Education Curriculum Available Online The "Social Work Education for the Prevention and Treatment of Alcohol Use Disorders" curriculum is available on the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) website. The curriculum is extensive (currently 20 module text files [not including introductory materials] and 19 PowerPoint files [not including the PDF contents file], so it is best downloaded to CD. Please also bookmark the page, since the curriculum will be updated as new research--applicable to the curriculum--becomes available. Notification of these updates will be posted directly under the word "contents list" on the (opening) attached page. NIAAA expects that social work training programs will make these materials freely available to social work educators and students, in order to maximize dissemination, utilization and understanding of alcohol use disorders, as well as to stimulate interest and/or careers in social work research as it pertains to alcohol.
