Resource Family Support

Need CEU's

Online classes available at  http://www.fosterparentcollege.com for a small fee. This is an excellent way for foster parents to earn continuing education units.

Another resource is the Family and Community Services (FACS) resource library at www.211.idaho.gov/facslibrary or call the CareLine at 2-1-1. The library consists of books, DVDs, videos and audio media as resources for foster families, KinCare families, Department of Health and Welfare employees and community partners. You can browse through the collection to find the resources most helpful to you. The materials will be shipped to you free of charge.

Another way to earn foster parent continuing education hours is to attend Resource Family Training & Support meetings in your region.  You earn 1.0 units for each training and support meeting you attend.

And once a year you can earn 5-7 units by attending the Resource Family and Social Worker Conferences. These conferences are fun, informative, and a great way to connect with other foster families. Check our website at the beginning of the year for information regarding the annual conference.

Trauma Training is a training offered through ICWRTC and offers knowledge and training for foster parents to respond more effectively to the behavioral and emotional challenges of children who have experience trauma.
